Martin Braxenthaler wins gold for the eighth time

Presentation ceremony on Medals Plaza by Professor Hans Georg Näder.

Martin Braxenthaler gewinnt zum achten Mal Gold.

Martin Braxenthaler has won the second gold medal for Germany at the Paralympics in Vancouver.
In doing so, the moniskier had already reached his minimum goal at the presentation ceremony with Professor Hans Georg Näder on Medals Plaza. He wanted to get on the podium at least once during these games. Now he won gold - number eight in his career - in the first of five competitions.

Martin Braxenthaler had a solid lead of 4.66 seconds over Josh Dueck from Canada. Phillip Bonadimann from Austria came in third. "I was aiming for a medal, no matter what colour. Now I have the gold medal after the first of five competitions, so I have nothing to lose," Martin Braxenthaler said, looking forward calmly to the upcoming events.
