The ThermoLyn® SKINGUARD® product line was recognised with the iF material award 2010 at the Hanover trade fair. This line of antibacterial thermoplastics developed by Otto Bock HealthCare is used in the fabrication of prosthetic sockets and assures pleasant wearing characteristics along with wellbeing of the skin.

Thermolyn® SKINGUARD® significantly reduces discolouration and the formation of odours caused by microbes. Greater durability is another advantage for the prosthesis wearer. "The material features high rigidity, good fracture resistance, favourable vacuum-forming characteristics and transparency," explains Karl Becker, Head of Technical Customer Service at Otto Bock.
