At a glance
ProSeal is a proximal vacuum socket sealing system for use in transfemoral fittings, which distinguishes itself through simplicity and excellent wearer comfort. It consists of two components – the 452A1 ProSeal ring and the 6Y81 ProSeal SIL liner.
The 452A1 ProSeal ring is a ring attached in the socket where it creates the proximal seal for the vacuum system, for example in prostheses with the PushValve.
The 6Y81 ProSeal SIL liner is a 3-mm-thick silicone liner with no textile components that acts as the interface between the skin and the socket or ring. A non-sticky exterior surface coating makes it easy and comfortable to slide the stump into the socket. The silky texture of the inner side of the liner improves adhesion and enhances wearer comfort.
Due to the proximal reduction of the socket, this system may not be the optimal solution for amputees with arterial occlusion. In such cases, please consult a physician before using the system.
