Rollstuhl Avantgarde Ti Ultra

The union of form and function is increasingly popular in the market. This is in part due to the increased  codetermination and quality awareness by users. The many distinctions awarded to Otto Bock products confirm that we have attained the highest standards not only in technology but also in design. The honors and prizes for design and function include all product segments from Otto Bock. For example, the Voyager active wheelchair received the internationally renowned “red dot, Best of the Best” design award in June 2001, an award from the Designzentrum Nordrhein-Westfalen. The same high recognition was awarded in 2003 to the Kimba Spring children’s wheelchair and in 2005 to the unilateral orthosis joint system. Further red dot awards were claimed by our C1000 (2004) and A 200 power wheelchairs, the 3R60 Knee Joint, the DynamicArm® as well as the Avantgarde Ti Ultra active wheelchair (all in 2005). In Spring 2006, the latter received the Silver Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany, proving its worth again by winning the most prestigious national award.

The first red dot award we received in 2006 went to the Avantgarde VR light. That was followed by further design awards such as the French “Observeur du design 2002” for the carbon prosthesis foot C-Walk and a silver medal from the Deutscher Designer Club for the microprocessor-controlled knee joint C-Leg®. The C-Leg® was already honored in 1999 with the Austrian State Award for Innovation and in 2002 in London with the “Independent Living Design Award” for design and technology. Among further contest successes of the year 2005 are the first prize for the C-Leg® and the active wheelchair Avantgarde Ti 8.9 at the HospiMEDICA in Brünn (Czech Republic) as well as the distinction of the SensorHand Speed through the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA), which also gave the customer service concept of Otto Bock HealthCare a number one ranking.
