Mobility after a Stroke

The "Mobility after a Stroke" concept provides comprehensive support for stroke patients. It is presented in partnership with the German Stroke Foundation as well as select clinics and medical supply companies. They will advise you regarding the most suitable medical devices in each rehabilitation phase.

Stroke as a Challenge

More than 1.3 million people permanently live with the effects of a stroke – that corresponds to the population of Munich. The total number of patients will increase to almost 3.5 million by the year 2025. Around 270,000 new stroke cases occur annually in Germany alone.
Stroke is therefore the biggest challenge in the German healthcare system next to diabetes. This demands special patient care structures and competency networks. One example are the stroke units in clinics, which have already established themselves for acute treatment after a stroke. But patient care continues even after acute treatment! This is why "Mobility after a Stroke" was developed.

A Patient Care Network

Ottobock, the German Stroke Foundation and select clinics and medical supply companies have joined forces in the international "Mobility after a Stroke" patient care concept. We want to jointly provide stroke patients with high-quality fittings according to the latest insights. The concept partners offer medical devices for every rehabilitation phase: from wheelchairs and orthoses to functional electrical stimulation (FES). Promoting patient activity is the objective. An optimum fitting is not necessarily the same as the maximum possible fitting here. The focus is always on the respective patient. This is emphasised by the concept partners.
